Trauma
You’re not broken—you’re healing.
We understand how deeply trauma can impact your life—how it can live in your body, shape your relationships, cloud your thoughts, and leave you feeling disconnected from the person you once were. Whether your trauma stems from a single event or a series of experiences, the things you are feeling make sense. Your story matters.
And here’s what we want you to know: you are not the pain you've carried. You are not your trauma. You are a whole, resilient person who has lived through some hard stuff—and there is hope.
What does trauma look like?
Trauma can look different for different people. Some of the things you might experience are:
Struggling with anxiety or panic.
Feeling numb or emotionally distant or having difficulty regulating emotions.
Battling intrusive memories or bad dreams.
Avoiding people, places, or things that trigger reminders.
Carrying shame, guilt, or confusion and questioning your memory, instincts, or sense of reality.
Having difficulty trusting others or forming close relationships.
Struggling with low self-worth or having a shaky sense of identity.
Engaging in coping behaviours that feel out of control.
Our approach to trauma therapy.
Our approach to trauma is rooted in empathy and a deep respect for your pace and process. It’s not about “fixing” you or rushing to get over it. It’s a gentle moving through—with support every step of the way. Our work might include:
Internal Family Systems (IFS) - to help your hurt parts process their burdens and move toward self-trust.
Relational & Attachment-Focused - to support you in finding secure connections with yourself and others.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - to work with the thought patterns and beliefs that trauma can leave behind.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) - to help you move toward a life that reflects your values, even in the presence of difficult feelings.
Mindfulness, Self-Compassion, and Somatic approaches - to support you in grounding and treating yourself with kindness.
Morgan Donovan, MC, CCC
Trauma can leave you feeling disconnected—from your body, your emotions, your sense of safety, or even your sense of self. Morgan approaches trauma therapy with deep care and attunement, helping you gently explore how past experiences continue to shape your present. She believes healing doesn’t require reliving everything—it can be found through somatic processing, self-compassion, and corrective emotional experiences in the present moment with someone who can support you in staying grounded and regulated.
Morgan’s work is trauma-informed and integrative, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), polyvagal theory, attachment, and narrative approaches. She works collaboratively, supporting you in building internal safety and understanding your protective strategies without judgment. Together, you’ll begin to loosen the grip of old stories and rediscover a sense of agency, wholeness, and connection—on your own terms and at your own pace.
Krista Teare, MC, CCC
Trauma isn’t just about what happened—it’s about what’s still living in your body, your thoughts, your nervous system. Krista approaches trauma therapy with clarity, steadiness, and deep respect for the ways people adapt and survive. Whether you’re carrying the weight of a single event or the long shadow of ongoing experiences, she works with you to untangle the patterns that no longer serve you and help you reconnect with a sense of safety and self-trust.
Krista’s work is trauma-informed and integrative, often drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and somatic awareness. She doesn’t push, but she does guide—helping you build the capacity to face hard things without being overwhelmed by them. Together, you’ll explore how your past has shaped you, and more importantly, how you want to move forward. This isn’t about staying stuck in old stories—it’s about reclaiming your own.
